    March 2019 Recap!

    March was a fun-filled month here at AK! Here is a recap of all the events from the past month! March kicked off the martial arts competition season! Some of our students tested their skills against other students in the area. All our competitors did an amazing job! The demo team kicked off the competition with an epic performance, amping up all of the competitors! Students then competed in both forms and sparring, bringing home some shiny karate bling!     Life Lesson: Lionhearted - Extraordinarily Courageous

    We all know of the character the cowardly lion from the classic, The Wizard of Oz. He joins Dorothy and the gang in order to ask the Wizard to grant him courage, a trait the lion believes that he lacks. However, one could argue that the cowardly lion was never actually cowardly at all. Contrary to his belief, he displayed many acts of courage throughout the story.     American Karate in the Community: Recess Zone

    This winter, American Karate teamed up with Ellington Youth Services to participate in their Recess Zone program. Recess Zone provides a variety of enrichment activities that student's can sign up for during their regularly schedule recess time. Mr. Sanchez and Mr. SJ brought their American Karate excellence to the 3 elementary schools, instructing over 550 Ellington students!
